Joan Frances McLaughlin

Joan F. McLaughlin Mint Spring Joan Frances (Watson) McLaughlin, 76, of Mint Spring passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born April 20, 1936 in Lynchburg, VA and was the daughter of the late John and Iver (Taylor) Watson. Ms. McLaughlin was a devoted church member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Staunton. Joan was active in the Bethel Woman’s Church Group and had enjoyed teaching first and second grade Sunday school in the past. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh McLaughlin. Survivors include her loving children, John McLaughlin of Staunton, Beth McLaughlin of Maryland and Sarah Tankersley of Virginia; grandchildren, Angela, Michael, Issac, Isaiah, Riley and Briana; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Isabelle; siblings, Tom Watson of Staunton and Lou Godley of Staunton. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be church members. The family will receive friends on Friday November 23, 2012 from 6 until 7 PM at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W.
