Born February 7, 1962 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Lee Davis and Alice Campbell.
Marie never had an easy life and despite her challenges and being orphaned at 5 years old, she always had a smile on her face. She was friends with everyone she met. Seven years ago, Marie became a part of the Rockbridge Meadows Group Home family. Marie was very loved at the home. Prior to her illness, she had a job that she loved and she enjoyed being independent. Marie knew she wasn’t well but she continued to fight and never gave up. Marie will be missed dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Trayer.
Survivors include two brothers, John Campbell and Sam Campbell; close friend and caregiver, Alisha Montgomery; case manager, Stephanie Bortner; and the staff of Rockbridge Meadows Group Home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Thornrose Cemetery, 1041 W. Beverley St., Staunton.
