Mary Hughes “Patsy” (Ligon) Easley, 90, of Staunton passed away on Tuesday, April 3,2018 at Augusta Health. She was born in Clarksville on September 24, 1927, a daughter of the late John Archer and Genevieve (Hughes) Ligon.
Patsy worked as a homemaker taking care of her husband and children. She was an active member of Aglow International. Patsy was an Elder of Second Presbyterian Church in Staunton and taught Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two siblings, Jack Ligon and Martha Grimmett.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Eugene Brannock Easley; children, Jonnie Kern and husband, Steven, Beverly Hartley, Andrew Easley, II and Mary Sonifrank and husband, Scherrill ; grandchildren, Virginia Lockamy and husband, Eric, Angela Hartley, Nathan Hartley and wife, Sarah, and Jonathan Hartley and wife, Leslie, Genevieve Easley, Alex and Paul Sonifrank; eight great- grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Second Presbyterian Church, 201 W Frederick St, Staunton, with The Reverend Evan R. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5,2018 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
