Mary Ellen Lickfold

Born November 26, 1924 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Newlen) Lickfold and Alfred John Lickfold, Sr. and step-mother, Mary (Talley) Lickfold.

Ms. Lickfold was a member of Cherryville United Methodist Church. She worked as a clerk at Kroger and after 40 years of faithful service she retired. Mary enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, knitting, crocheting, painting and quilting.

In addition to her parents and step-mother, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred John Lickfold, Jr. and Robert Edward Lickfold; nephew, Tony Lee Smith.

Survivors include her sister, Anna Wiseman and husband Earl of Staunton; nieces, Deborah Gray, Susan Cobb, Sharon Meeks and husband Tim all of Staunton; nephews, Rob Lickfold, Jr. and John Lickfold both of Florida; cousin, Nelly Flora and husband Mark of New Hope, VA; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Thornrose Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Campbell officiating. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
