

Born July 18, 1959 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Charles Samuel and Elva O. (Wilhelm) Brocato.
Mike had a lifelong passion for farming, which began during his youth while working on his uncle’s farm. He was most recently employed in the maintenance department at White’s Truck Stop. A man of unwavering faith, Mike was a devoted and faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Waynesboro. He was also a talented musician who found great joy in playing the guitar and cherished spending time with friends at local coffee shops.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt who raised him, Luther and Cindy Wilhelm; and a brother, John Brocato.
Survivors include his two children, Joshua Brocato of Waynesboro and Amanda Lingenfelter and husband, David, of Staunton; grandson, River Lingenfelter; brother, Patrick “Pete” Brocato of Stuarts Draft; sister, Sonja Bell and husband, Jay, of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 521 James Ave., Waynesboro with Pastor J. Mark Finch officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
