Millard Marvin Edwards, Jr.

Millard “Marvin” Edwards, Jr., 80, of Staunton passed away on January 17, 2021 at his home. Born April 18, 1940 in Staunton, he was the son of the late Millard Marvin Edwards, Sr. and Ruth Virginia (Taliaferro) Edwards. On September 28, 1977 he married Gretchen Maxwell. The two shared a blessed marriage of 43 years. Marvin was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Stuarts Draft. In earlier years, he was employed by Mastic where he worked as a Quality Control Manager and prior to retirement had worked for Newman Aluminum. Marvin will be remembered as an artist and avid wood carver. Survivors include his loving wife, Gretchen Maxwell Edwards of Staunton; two sons, Dennis Harlow and wife, Tina of Culpeper, Va and Kenneth Harlow of Cumberland, Va; three daughters, Bonnie Menefee and husband, John of Culpeper, Va, Camnon Edwards of Staunton, and Melissa Avey and husband, Michael of Deerfield, Va; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those wishing to pay their respects and sign the guestbook may do so from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St., Staunton. Due to COVID-19 all will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Oaklawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens, 1921 Shutterlee Mill Road, Stauton with Pastor Frank Hall officiating.
