Born May 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Michael and Eva (Jacobs) Scharf.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan Scharf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church with Father Joseph Wamala officiating. Burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick Street.
