

She was born on January 20, 1915, in Staunton, Virginia the daughter of Reuben S. and Lucy J. Weaver.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, C. Rayner Macomber; sister, Ruby W. Lawson.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Mary Baldwin College. After
graduating college she trained from 1935-36 to teach hearing impaired students at The
Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Pittsburgh. She taught at the Rhode
Island School for the Deaf in Providence retiring after 38 years. Following retirement she
served for 10 years as a volunteer with the Rhode Island Lung Association. In 1986, she
and her husband, relocated to Friendship Retirement Community in Roanoke, Virginia.
While there she worked with residents to found the current RAFM (Residence Association
of Friendship Manor) organization.
She is survived by her cousin, Marie Raulfs, companion and caregiver, and ten special cousins who reside across the United States.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Thornrose Cemetery, Staunton, Virginia with Dr. Steve Traylor officiating.
