Born March 20, 1953 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Herman Arnold Eavey and Mabel Virginia (Rickman) Stott.
Prior to retirement, Jimmy worked as a cook at Wilson Rehabilitation Center and various restaurants. He was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably with the Marines. Jimmy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Arnold Eavey; and his maternal grandmother who raised him, Florence Rickman.
Survivors include his two sons, James Eavey of AZ and Sidney Eavey of Waynesboro; two sisters, Diane Morgan of Swoope and Doris Aleshire of Waynesboro; aunt, Judy Hatcher of Waynesboro; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, there will be no formal services.
