I've known Page since I was a little kid. I caddied bridge tournaments and he played with my uncle. Every time I saw him, he had a warm hug for me. He was always exceptionally kind. I hadn't seen him in several years, but I think of him often. Much love to the family.

Page and I worked together with a number of other long standing friends in the late 60s at the Virginia Department of Highways. We socialized for years along with our significant others discussing the issues of the day.

We were the folk of the 60s, bell bottomed and long hair. Our supervisor was middle aged with a butch haircut. On one occasion he called Page into his office to speak to him about the length of Page's hair. Page interrupted the supervisor, to ask if the supervisor wasn't old enough to grow a little more hair?

We've only seen each other twice since 1980 not counting last week. But we've tagged up once or twice a year on the phone. I'm already missing that gravely voice I've treasured for so long.
