

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Carl "Tony" Wilson, Sr., who passed away on May 25, 2026, in Chantilly, Virginia, at the age of 71.
Born on October 23, 1954, in Statesville, North Carolina, Tony was the beloved son of Dorothy and Zaphon Wilson. He grew up alongside his brothers, Zaphon, Kendall, Mark, and Gregory, and developed the values of family, hard work, and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life.
Tony attended Appalachian State University, beginning a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. He later answered the call to serve his country, proudly joining the United States Air Force. During his years of military service, he exemplified dedication, honor, and integrity while building friendships that would last a lifetime. Following his service, Tony enjoyed a successful career in Information Technology and Systems Engineering, earning the respect of colleagues through his professionalism, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence.
While Tony valued his education, military service, and career accomplishments, nothing meant more to him than his family. He was a devoted father whose love, guidance, and steady presence shaped the lives of his children and grandchildren. He found joy in family gatherings, sharing stories, offering wisdom, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Tony was an avid sports enthusiast who especially loved tennis, football, and basketball. Tennis, in particular, brought him immense happiness, whether competing on the court or enjoying a friendly match with fellow players. He also had a gift for bringing people together through food and was well known among family and friends for his skills on the grill, where countless meals became opportunities for laughter, conversation, and connection.
Tony is survived by his loving children: Tonya (Steve) Childress, Toshia (James) Larkins, TJ (Melissa) Wilson, and Alyssa Davis. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Tyler Childress, Jasmine Childress, Jackson Childress, Jay Larkins, Caeli Wilson, Zara Wilson, Jordyn Wilson, and Elijah Larkins. He is also survived by his brothers, Zaphon (Annette) Wilson and Mark Wilson, a host of nieces and nephews, and the many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and unwavering love.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah "Debbie" Wilson; his parents, Dorothy and Zaphon Wilson; and his brothers, Kendall and Gregory Wilson.
In his later years, Tony faced the challenges of dementia with strength and dignity, supported by the love of his family and caregivers. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Chantilly Heights Memory Care for the kindness, compassion, and exceptional care they provided during Tony's final year.
Tony's warmth, strength, sense of humor, and devotion to those he loved left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
