Lily Taraneh Sheini befittingly entered this world in a firestorm on December 31, 2021, and left it far too soon on October 18, 2025. In her three wonderful years, she lived with an abundance of energy, light, and exuberance that touched hundreds of lives.
Lily spent most of her life in Northern Virginia, where any given weekend would find her surrounded by those who loved her, exploring parks, museums, and local festivals with her family. She was the cherished daughter of Mollie and Pezhman Sheini, who loved her with their whole hearts. Her little brother Liam, nine months old, loved his big sister deeply, and she loved him in return.
Lily gave the most wonderful hugs and enthusiastic high-fives. A princess in every measure, she knew what she wanted and asked for it with a clarity and confidence that made everyone smile. She delighted in snuggling, playing with her friends at daycare, and had recently been doing so well with potty training—on her own terms, of course. Elmo and Spiderman were among her favorite companions.
Lily was deeply loved by her grandparents, her aunts, uncles, and cousins—Brandon, Dean, Teddy, Leo, Pedram, Abtin, Arin, Aylin, Mila, Maya, Micah, and Holden—all of whom will carry stories and memories of their time with Lily always.
In three years, Lily gave and received a lifetime’s worth of love. She will be missed beyond measure.
Lily, your spirit will forever live on and your love will not be forgotten.
Lily's family welcomes all who loved her to gather at Demaine Life Celebration Center at 45511 E Severn Way, Sterling, VA between 5:00 and 8:00 the evening of Friday, October 24, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 on Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Sterling, VA, with burial to follow at Old Sterling Cemetery.
