

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Michele L. Huggler on July 16, 2025 at the age of 75. She was born March 14, 1950 in Kane, Pennsylvania and lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and an unwavering love for family.
Michele grew up in Marienville, Pennsylvania with her parents, Audrey E. Carter and Benjamin T. Huggler and sister Audrey Joanne Roberts, who preceded her in death. She attended East Forest Elementary and High School in Marienville, Clarion Area High School in Clarion, and graduated from Killingly High School (Danielson, Connecticut) in 1968. Michele earned a degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
Michele was an on-air engineer for ABC Television, serving as a chyron engineer, amongst other jobs. Michele was particularly proud of working on beloved programs such as A.M. Los Angeles, Barney Miller, Monday Night Football, and the Pro Bowling Tour. She was part of the Emmy winning team that broadcast the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Michele moved to Ashburn, Virginia, in 1992, to be closer to family and her dear friend Liz Francis. Michele became an active member of the local weaving community. She particularly enjoyed the friends she met through the Waterford Weavers Guild. She shared her craft with neighbors and friends while nurturing a deep affection for sheep. She was frequently accompanied by one or more of her beloved border collies, Miles, Murphy, and Maddie.
She is survived by her nephews Gregory T. Roberts (Bellevue, Washington) and Douglas M. Roberts (Potomac Falls, Virginia), five great nieces and nephews, Alexander Roberts, Chelsea (Brian) Banks, Joshua (Nicole) Roberts, Alyssa Roberts, and Josephine Roberts, and five great-great nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Allen R. Roberts. Michele’s creative spirit, talent, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service for Michele will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, 4:00pm at the Demaine Life Celebration Center of Loudoun County, 45511 E. Severn Way, Sterling, VA 20166.
