Adolf Schaefer, age 93, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025. Born in Kassel, Germany on April 23, 1932,

Adolf was married to his beloved wife Erika for 67 years and they were rarely apart until Erika’s passing in May of 2024. Together, they built a good life for their family.

Adolf established himself as a baker, and he and Erika ran a small bakery in Helsa, Germany. In 1960, Adolf immigrated to the United States with his young family and settled in Chicago, Illinois. There, he continued working as a baker, eventually owning his own shops and becoming known for his baked goods, fancy pastries, and wedding cakes.

Once retired from the bakery, Adolf and Erika managed and owned rental properties, always working to ensure a happy and successful future for their sons.

Years later, Adolf and Erika enjoyed living in Fountain Hills, Arizona, spending time with friends and enjoyed the many things Arizona had to offer.

Adolf is survived by his loving sons, Udo (Vivian) and Dittmar (Caroline); his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew), David, Mark, Kevin, and Lauren (Eric); and his adored great-grandchildren, Keegan, Cohen, and Charlotte.

A visitation for Adolf will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402.
