

Alexandra "Sandy" Dellutri, age 79, beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Marie "Dolly" Dellutri; loving sister of Dale (Frances) Dellutri and Angela (aka Paula) Dellutri; cherished aunt of Aaron (Jennifer), Cara (Jay), Christopher Scott, Mary (Michael), and Jed (Laura); and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.
Sandy devoted her life to helping others. She spent eight years as a Franciscan nun, known as Sister Carla, teaching in schools throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Following her years in religious life, she earned her credentials as a clinical social worker and dedicated her career to counseling and supporting others through life's challenges.
She served as Director of Counseling and Disability/Health Services at Barat College of DePaul University and Northwestern College in Bridgeview, Illinois. Sandy was also a partner in private practice with Transitions: Associates in Psychotherapy, where she continued her lifelong commitment to helping individuals find healing, growth, and hope.
Sandy had a deep love for music and the arts. She played the piano, guitar, and sang beautifully. She enjoyed attending plays and musical performances. She especially loved meeting people, sharing stories, and gathering with family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter brightened every room she entered. Sandy's joyful spirit and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a prayer service at Noon at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the American Heart Association in Sandy's memory.
