

Alphonse Toribio Jr., age 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. Al was born in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Clara [nee Baker] and Alphonse Toribio on January 23rd, 1948.
Al is survived by his beloved wife Lupe, his adoring children; Angie (Sonny) Mendiola, Gail (Ricky) Martinez, Victoria (Derek) Bromstead, Frank Menchaca, Michael Toribio, and Dana (Darryl) Dunn, his 12 cherished grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, his siblings; Dolores (Trino) Gonzalez, Donna (the late Rudy) Peralta, Glora (Tony) Rodriguez, and Tony Toribio, his many nieces and nephews, as well as countless other family members and friends who will remember him.
Al proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the VFW and was once acting Commander of his local chapter.
Al had a huge personality and loved to have a good time. He was a great dancer and was the life of every party. He made friends everywhere he went and touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A visitation for Al will be held Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 S. Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 4101 S. Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402.
