Barbara Ann Ris, 66, of Berwyn, Illinois, passed away on September 26, 2026. Born on April 17, 1960, Barbara will be remembered by her unwavering loyalty and honesty that shaped the way she loved and cared for others. Her devotion was evident in the commitments she kept and the people she held close, offering a steady presence that will be profoundly missed.
Barbara was the daughter of Robert and Georgiana Beebe. She was also the sister of Robert (Mary) and William (Carmen). In addition Barbara was also the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
On August 25, 1984, Barbara married Walter Ris. Together they built a family that remained the heart of her world. Barbara was the loving mother of Darlene (Jeffery) Boron Ris and Holly (John) Parypinski Ris. She was also the cherished grandmother of Colin Ginger, Conor Parypinski Ris, Skyler, Fiona, and Gwendolyn Boron Ris. In each of these roles, Barbara’s pride and devoted spirit shone through.
Barbara found joy in simple, life-giving pleasures: walking, bicycling, and traveling, as well as the beauty of flowers and the comfort of animals. She especially enjoyed visiting Brookfield Zoo, a reflection of her enduring appreciation for the natural world and the quiet happiness it brought her.
Visitation will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, on October 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
