Char Silk Shiu

It is with great sadness and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of our beloved Char Silk Shiu, who departed this world peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on December 1, 1929, in China.

Silk was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose life was enriched by the love of his family. Survived by his cherished wife of 65 years, Kam. Together, they built a life filled unwavering support, surrounded by their children: Sui (David), Kin (Mei), Sally (Ken), and Mary (Kurt). Silk was the proud grandfather to Jacob, Alec, Ethan (Samantha), Emma, Jarrett, and Karissa, and found joy in the presence of his great-grandchild, Koby.

Throughout his life, Silk was passionate about the architectural realm, finding great satisfaction in working with his hands.

Silk was predeceased by his parents and siblings, a loss he carried with quiet strength and grace.

A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Silk's life and legacy. In this intimate gathering, his family will come together to celebrate the memories they shared that he left on each of their hearts.
