Eugene W Chan

Eugene Chan, age 59, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on September 3, 2016. He was the loving father of Eileen (Miguel) Lima and Sara Chan; adoring grandfather of Isabelle Lima and Liliana Lima; beloved son of the late Pui Chou (late Fung King) Chan; fond brother of Mary (Paul) Wong, Leonard Chan, Christine (Robert) Wasiak, Edmund Chan and Wayne (Audra) Chan; affectionate uncle to Eva Wong, Angela Wong, Lani Wong, Collin Wasiak, Evan Wasiak, Michelle Chan and Maddux Chan.

He was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to the United States where he made Chicago his home. He was a former Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy and enjoyed spending time at his chess club but first and foremost cherished his time with his two daughters and enjoyed each and every moment with his two granddaughters. They were the light in his life and made each day more precious than the last. He had a great sense of humor and a big heart and was loved by many. We miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held 10am-1pm, Thursday, September 8, 2016 followed by the Funeral Service at Mount Auburn Funeral Home 4101 S. Oak Park Ave., Stickney, Illinois 60402, 1-708-749-2033.
