Evelyn was a complex woman. A force of nature. A rock of stability to many, a thorn to the side for few. She was a mother, a friend, a companion, a teacher, a listener, and above all, a lover. She ensured her love and her care prevailed all through her actions. Whether that be providing a listening ear, a helping hand or two, or to simply provide some wise words that resonated with many. Her heart is one that was incomprehensibly strong, holding many entrusted secrets, many weights of shared troubles, and so much more she bore the weight of to help the ones she loved and held closest to her. With this, she was also a mother. One that made one thing clear; the love for her daughter. I entrust with each written word that this love is one that doesn’t need to be described. As I felt it every waking day of hers, no matter the day, no matter the distance, no matter the situation. She let that very love shine through her sense of being, and that is something I will make a point of every day to ensure it will never be taken for granted. She was proud to be a mother. That proudness will shine through the actions of her daughter every day.
Please know, and let this sit with your heart.
Every person she knew and entrusted, she loved deeply, and completely. Speaking as her daughter, I’ve heard the stories. I’ve seen the photos, tasteful and not. I’ve lived to hear the laughs come from reminiscent story tellings, seen her light up at the recollection of a memory shoved in the furthest part of her mind. I’ve been blessed enough to know her through and through, and I’ve witnessed the life that was instilled in her by many people. If there was one thing Evelyn was; she was love. Please take the love that was given to you, hold it dear, nurture it, and let it grow with the light her legacy continues to shine.
Blessed be, and God bless.
