So unbelievable!  Ilse's name was just brought up at a conference we were doing in Phoenix -- we were googling her name to see if she was still at ASHE.  I was so shocked to see that she passed away already a year ago.  Such a wonderful, beautiful person -- and so well known in the meetings industry.  I met Ilse about 15 years ago when I worked with Barry Weiss at DATAaide, since then Barry retired and I bought his business now called MEETING/AIDE. Mr. Almanza (Guillermo):   It was with deep sadness that I have found out recenlty about Ilse's untimely passing.  Words can not say what a shock it was to hear the news here in San Antonio, TX where I can tell her she had many collegues here in with the Air Force Medical Service Health Facilities Division.  

I did not know Ilse when I first started out in this business over 17 yrs ago now, but thru my work with ASHE and its vatrious Committiees I got to travel with and know Ilse very well.  She was always kind, and evern though I have never met you, I know she thought of you fondly too as she was always excited when you would be able join her on her/our confrence trips.  She was not only a tireless worker for the association, but a wonderful fun person to be with, and she always had an upbeat attitude and she cared, no matter what difficult project we were wokring on.  I am glad to have known her and I am going to truely miss her as she was indeed on the of the "good guys" in this business.   

My god bless you, your girls, and her extended family at this sad time in your lives.  We all here in San Antonio and Washington DC who had known her are hinking of you and whishing you all the best.

My deepest condolences to the Family of this great Woman. I had the distinct pleasure working with Ilse while incorporating our U.S. Air Force members, into the annual ASHE Conference.  She was always kind, accommodating, and truly enjoyed the camaraderie she had with each of the Military Fellows (we met her through our internships at The Joint Commission). Ilse made event planning look simple, and she guaranteed each conference would be well enjoyed by the attendees. On behalf our our Air Force Medical Facility Managers, I want to salute Ilse as she transitions. A wonderful spirit. She will be greatly missed.

You have suffered a great loss that is felt by many outside your immediate  family. Although we do not feel the loss as deeply, we are saddened by the prospect of our next conference being one where we don't see her smile, positive energy and decisiveness throughout the days of the conference bringing it to a successful completion. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel. I'm still in shock that my Aunt Ilse is gone. She was a loving and caring person, a man couldnt ask for a better Aunt. Every time we would see each other, she'd make sure I gave her multiple hugs. Aunt Ilse, you will be missed dearly. I am one of the newest members of the ASHE family and was really just getting to know Ilse. I will remember how Ilse always spoke so fondly of her grandbabies. At work, she always had every detail of every meeting covered and she always thought of a special food or treat to thank the staff. I first met Ilse at the ASHE-AIA PDC about 20 years ago.  She was an extraordinary help at that first conference. Every conference thereafter, she remembered me and was always the first person I would turn to for assistance.  During the year, when I had a question concerning ASHE, I would call her.  She would know me immediately.  We would have a friendly chat, and Ilse would direct me to where I needed to go.  Ilse was a special friend to everyone in the ASHE and PDC community.

Ilse was an amazing lady.  Her enthusiasm lit up the room and she kept us all focused.  I can scarcely imagine an ASHE conference without her.  I am blessed to have worked with her for so many years.  My thoughts and prayers are with Almanza family and the ASHE family.
