Joaquin Barragan Garcia, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Joaquin was born on January 23, 1938 to his parents Sara Garcia and Jose Barragan. Loving husband of the late Juana López de Barragan. Beloved father of Maria Barragan (Andres Tinajero), Carmen Barragan (the late Enrique Daniel), José Barragan (Sandra), Laura Barragan (Manuel Martínez), Irma Barragan (Marco Villanueva),

Lorena Barragan (Abelino Quintero), Jesus Barragan, Alfredo Barragan (Angelica Bonilla) and the late Joaquin Barragan. Cherished grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

After losing his beloved wife, Juana, in 2016, he lived alone for nine years. He was happy on his ranch.

He visited his children often, but counted the days until he could return home to his beloved wife.

Although Joaquin suffered from his illnesses, he was strong and loving toward his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren affectionately called him Papi Quin.

A visitation for Joaquin will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402. Interment will be in Panteón Municipal de San Pedro Cahro, Municipio de Venustiano Carranza, Michoacán, México.

Querido padre de Maria Barragan (Andres Tinajero), Carmen Barragan (el finado Enrique Daniel), José Barragan (Sandra), Laura Barragan (Manuel Martínez), Irma Barragan (Marco Villanueva), Lorena Barragan (Abelino Quintero), Jesus Barragan, Alfredo Barragan (Angelica Bonilla), en paz descanse su amada esposa Juana y hijo Joaquin Barragan. Abuelo de 24 nietos y bisabuelo de 38.

Después que perdió su amada esposa, Juana en el 2016, vivo solo por nueve años. Él era feliz en su ranchito. Visitaba a sus hijos seguido, pero contaba los días para regresar a casa de su amada esposa.

Aunque Joaquin sufría de sus enfermedades, era fuerte y era amoroso con sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.

Los nietos, por cariño le decían Papi Quin.
