On Tuesday October 6, 2020, Judith Via of Shorewood IL passed away at age 69. A fiercely loyal friend to many, and an avid Cubs fan, Judy will be remembered for her tremendous courage, kindness and generosity.

Born on November 3rd, 1950 in Chicago IL, Judy was preceded in death by her husband James Via, and her parents James and Margaret Chalifoux. She is survived by her stepdaughters Lana Cuda (John Shields) and Leah (Michael) Sahler, and grandsons Tyler Cuda, Matthew Cuda, Michael Turnell, CJ Sahler and Cody Sahler. Sister to Carolyn Davis, Jacquelyn Fyr, Jo (Len) Coleson, James (Callie) Chalifoux, Madeleine (Richard) Sletten and Paul Chalifoux and loving aunt to many. Judy will be missed more than words can express.

A private funeral mass will be held at St. Cletus Catholic Church in LaGrange on Tuesday October 13th, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 West Monroe Street, Suite 900, Chicago IL 60661

My memory of Judy goes back to the beginning of time for me. As cousins living a few blocks from each other I spent many fun hours at their house. Judy was always sweet and gentle with a wry sense of humor.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to know Judy and experience her kindness, generosity and good will. She was definitely one of a kind and one in a million sweetheart. I thank God for allowing us to meet her and become friends with her. She will be missed .
