Marisela Carrillo, age 55, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born on June 10, 1971, in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, Marisela built a life defined by steady devotion to family, purposeful work, and a generous spirit that made others feel seen and supported. She was a beloved presence—kind-hearted in everyday ways, brave through life’s demands, and hard-working with a quiet determination. Even in serious moments, Marisela’s humor could soften the edges and bring light where it was needed most. She resided in Chicago, Illinois.
Marisela was the daughter of Gustavo B. Carrillo and Maria Luisa De Santiago. She grew up in the Back of the Yards and carried forward the values of perseverance and care for others that shaped her early years. She attended St. John of God School, Morton East High School, and Morton College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She later completed a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Finance and Accounting at UIC—an achievement reflecting both discipline and drive.
On August 10, 2011, Marisela married Raul Aldrete Jr. Together, they shared a life grounded in commitment and companionship.
Marisela found joy in seeing the world and savoring its beauty. Her travels took her to Mexico, Europe, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and Nevis—journeys that reflected her curiosity and appreciation for new places and experiences. She also loved reading and found community through the Paginas Book Club, where stories and conversation offered both connection and comfort.
Marisela’s compassion was not reserved for special occasions; it was part of her daily character. If there was anyone in need, she was often among the first to step forward—to help, to support, and to stand beside them with steady care.
Marisela is survived by her siblings Gerardo (Lucero) Carrillo and Jose Alonso (Sandy) Carrillo. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gustavo Carrillo Jr. and Carlos (Lynda) Carrillo. She was a loving aunt of Carlos, Enrique, Lily, Gabriel, Alejandro, Sofia, Sara, Tyanee, Vania and Sophia. Dear sister-in-law of Tania Aldrete (Nelson) and Tiffany Alvarez.
