Nancy M. Towler (née Riha), age 90, passed away on September 13, 2026. A longtime resident of Downers Grove and a former resident of Stickney, Illinois, Nancy left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is now joyfully reunited in peace with the love of her life, her husband Charles Towler. She was also preceded in passing by her parents, Barbara and Joseph; her beloved sisters, Barbara and Lucille; and her dear daughter-in-law, Rose.
She was a vibrant woman with a deep love for her family and a passion for her favorite pastimes. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Nancy loved cheering on her team and could often be found happily watching a wide variety of sports on television. During the holidays, she found great joy in the festive tradition of arranging her cherished Christmas Snow Village collection, bringing seasonal magic into her home.
Nancy was dearly loved by her family, her friends, and her compassionate caregivers. She is survived by her devoted children: Michael (Sara Friedle), Michelle (John Cepela), and Matthew (Dana). She was the proud and adoring grandmother of sixteen grandchildren: Aaron, Gina (Angelo), Vincent (Darcy), Anthony, Ryan (Mary), Brittany (Matt), Christina, Paul, Lauren, Kylie, Matthew (Emma), Ellen, Hannah, Nathan, Brady, and Reegan. She was also the treasured great-grandmother of Vito, Rosie, Leo, Charlie, RJ, Vincent Jr., and James.
Visitation will be held at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, Illinois 60402, on September 22, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am. A Funeral Chapel Service will follow at Mount Auburn Funeral Home on September 22, 2026, at 11:30 am. Interment will take place at Mount Auburn Memorial Park, 4101 S Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402, on September 22, 2026.
