Rafael Moreno, age 49 son of the late Rafael Figueroa Moreno and the late Maria Luisa Garcia de Moreno, went to be with the Lord and his parents on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St, Joseph Provena Hospital in Joliet, Illinois surrounded by his loving family. Rafael is survived by His wife the love of his life Laura Perez Moreno and his children Alexander, Priscilla, Loni, Laura Alexis, Crystal and his dog Elvis. He is also survived by his siblings, Sergio (Alicia), Ricardo (Azucena), Leticia, Jorge, Maria, Gerardo, and Ernesto (Delma). In addition he is survived by his loving nephews Sergio Jr, Ricardo Jr, Gabriel, Andrew Michael, Angel, Luca and nieces Alexis, Sara, Sophia, Dominique, Nadia and Emma.
Funeral Visitation, Friday, July 22, 2011 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services, Saturday, July 23, 2011 family and friends will meet at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius V. Church, 1919 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois for his Celebration of Life Mass. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen, Illinois.

Rafael Moreno was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Ralph will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Rafael Moreno y Maria Luisa Garcia Moreno. Ralph grew up in Chicago Illinois/Bridgeport Neighborhood.
Ralph was raised with Seven siblings. Sergio Moreno, Ricardo Moreno, Leticia Moreno, Jorge Moreno, Maria Moreno, Gerardo Moreno and Ernesto Moreno. Ralph was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Ralph had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Ralph was an active child who took part in baseball, and basketball. However, to Ralph, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
A typical teenager, Ralph had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He attended Tilden High School in Chicago, Illinois.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Ralph enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. While growing up he had so many friends, but his best friend was James (Jimmy) Andrade who he went out clubbing with almost everyday of the week in his early adult life. Later in life, he became friends with Ronald (Ron) Seeley Jr. who was his twin match in his interest of all sports he was his ESPN buddy.
On June 14, 2008 Ralph exchanged wedding vows with Laura Perez at St. Pius V. Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. Empathic and loyal, Ralph was committed to making his new family happy.
Ralph worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Ralph was blessed In his heart he had five children., Son, Alexander and daughters Priscilla, Loni, Laura Alexis, and Crystal.
Fortunately, Ralph enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ralph worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was Shipping and Receiving Clerk-Supervisor. He was employed for He was employed for 20 years at Filtration Group in Joliet Illinois. Ralph always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Ralph found pleasure in sports. In high school, Rafael played basketball and softball. Recreational sports included bowling, basketball and softball. Ralph was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Ralph had a love for all sports and was a true ESPN watcher. He was a die hard Chicago Fan of the Bears, Black Hawks, Bulls, and of course the #1 White Sox Fan.
Ralph recently became a member of the Ingalls Park Athletic Club in Joliet, Illinois.
Ralph enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included was Las Vegas after finally overcoming his fear of flying.
Ralph was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Elvis, a Westie-Poo was his ultimate companion and his best of friend. Many a time Ralph and Elvis would sneak away to Dairy Queen where Elvis always got his own baby cone, or McDonald's where Elvis knew that he would be getting some Chicken Nuggets. They were best friends for 3 years.
Ralph passed away on July 19, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. Ralph suffered a sudden hemorrhage to the brain. He is survived by His wife the love of his life Laura Perez Moreno and his children Alexander, Priscilla, Loni, Laura Alexis, Crystal and his dog Elvis. He is also survived by his siblings, Sergio (Alicia), Ricardo (Azucena), Leticia, Jorge, Maria, Gerardo, and Ernesto (Delma). In addition he is survived by his loving nephews Sergio Jr, Ricardo Jr, Gabriel, Andrew Michael, Angel, Luca and nieces Alexis, Sara, Sophia, Dominique, Nadia and Emma. Services were held at St Pius V. Catholic Church in Chicago. Rafael was laid to rest in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois.
Simply stated, Ralph was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ralph leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Rafael Moreno.
