Randy was the loving husband of the late June. He was the beloved father of Deborah Powers and Christine Freitag. Cherished grandfather of Jillian (Jason) Gurney, Becky Gacek (Tom Landvogt), Matt (Samantha) Gacek, Jenny Daily, Bradley Powers, Amanda (Michael) Fiala, Ryan Freitag, Zach Freitag, Autumn Melendez and great-grandfather of Seth, Anneliese, Isaac, Vincent, Kyle, Adam, James, Wyatt and Clayton. He was a beloved brother of Bonnie Vins and Lynn Czerwinski, and brother-in-law to Kathleen (the late Tom) Chmura. Randy will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Randy proudly served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971. He worked for Chase Products for 38 years. He was a gun enthusiast, member of the NRA, and loved his pet dogs, cats and neighborhood birds and squirrels. Randy was always there to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He will be deeply missed.
A committal service with military honors will take place at Mount Auburn Cemetery (4101 S. Oak Park Ave. Stickney, IL 60402) on September 9th, 2026, at 11am.
