Rose Biagioni
April 16, 1922 – January 13, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Mount Auburn Funeral Home & Cemetery
Rose Biagioni (100), of Berkeley, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023 in Carol Stream. She was the last of fifteen Ruffalo siblings.
Rose was born in a small town in Wisconsin on April 16, 1922 to parents Salvatore and Theresa (nee Infusino) Ruffalo. She married Leo Biagioni on June 5, 1948 and lived for many years in Berkeley. Rose did not marry again after Leo passed away in 1983, but she did have a few boyfriends whom she outlived.
Rose enjoyed her time as a homemaker until her son was in high school. Then she began a career at Montgomery Ward where she worked for many years. She volunteered for over 36 years at a resale shop that changed names and locations over the years. She will be most remembered for her love of dancing, and she belonged to a dance club well into her nineties. She never learned how to drive so she walked almost every day to her usual places like the Senior Group in Bellwood, the resale shop, for coffee at McDonald’s, to the bus stop to visit the Yorktown shopping mall, or wherever else she wanted to go. If you found Rose sitting, she was probably watching Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune or playing solitaire. She loved to bake, and her cheesecake was looked forward to every holiday. Despite her baking expertise, surprisingly, she did not care for sweets. Her grandchildren called her Grandma #1 which made her very happy.
Rose is survived by her son, Randy (Peg) Biagioni, granddaughter Dana (Matt) O’Halloran, and great-grandsons, Royce and Ace O’Halloran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, her grandson, Philip Biagioni, and her siblings Carmela Ruffalo, Charles (Mary) Ruffalo, James (Rose) Ruffalo, George (Susie) Ruffalo, Sammy (Virginia) Ruffalo, Carmela (John) Liddi, Susie (Elliott) Bloomquist, Louis (Bernice) Ruffalo, Irene Ruffalo, Mary (Nello) Copen, Frank (Betty) Ruffalo, Irene (Frank) Krepelan, Josephine (Oliver) Twist, Mamie (Ector) DeLuca, and Emil Ruffalo.
The Celebration of Her Life will be held Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Del Webb Huntley Prairie Lodge, 12860 Del Webb Blvd, Huntley, IL. Enter the lodge at Jameson’s Restaurant, and the hostess will direct you to Drendel Hall for the visitation. Lunch will be provided.
