Guy was born on March 25, 1952 in Asheville, North Carolina to Elmer & Genevieve Lowe. After graduating high school, he spent his professional career in the United States Army. He served from 1974-1995, retiring as First Sergeant. He served with the 101st Airborne; three tours in Germany and one tour on the DMZ in Korea. While serving in the military he received several military accommodations and medals.
Guy met the love of his life, Ellen Marie Martin, while in high school. They later married and had four amazing children. Together he lived happily ever after for over 40 years with his high school sweetheart.
He was an active, hard-working member at Flippen United Methodist Church of McDonough, Georgia; an avid golfer; a Mason and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Eugene Lowe; mother, Genevieve Smith Lowe; brother, Junior Lowe; great-grandson, Aiden Johnson; two infant great-grandchildren and wife, Ellen Marie Lowe.
Guy's life will forever be remembered and cherished by his children, Genevieve "Angel" Davis, Katheleen "Kathy" Moore, Michael Lowe (Sabrina) and William "David" Lowe (Kimberly); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Gibson and brother, Monyua Lowe (Betty Jean "Peanut"); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and family friends.
Visitation for Mr. Guy E. Lowe will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM in 10 person rotation intervals (guests must wear a mask) at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 11:00AM at Flippen United Methodist Church, 3707 Jodeco Road, McDonough, Georgia. (Guests must wear a mask and adhere to a temperature check.)
The Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, immediately following the service.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be limited to family only. The visitation and graveside committal will be open to the public, however, guests must remain six feet apart and wear a mask.
