Barbara was a graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School. She was employed by Decatur Federal Savings and Loan. While with Decatur Federal, she managed many people and served in many administrative positions
Barbara was an active member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband H. Jack Parker, her brother Frank Gibson, her sisters Mellie Wellborn, Mary Garmon, and Gerry King.
She is survived by her children, Steve Parker (Susan), and Deborah Smith, her grandchildren, Matt Smith (Julie), Laura Nafe, Wes Parker (Amy). Brett Parker, her great grandchildren Cole Parker, Wyatt Parker, Hannah Parker, Julia Parker, Brenner Nafe, Braxton Nafe, Audrey Smith, Edy Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Horis A. Ward- Fairview Chapel Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Fairview memorial Garden
