Barbara Louise Strickland Truelove

Barbara was born on October 8, 1933to George and Virginia Strickland in Atlanta, Georgia. After Barbara graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951, she went on to marry Johnny Truelove in August of that same year at Grant Park Christian Church.

Barbara and Johnny went on to have three children, Debra Lee Truelove Arnold, Pamela Lynn Truelove Baxley and John Larry Truelove.

Barbara spent her time with family every summer at Daytona Beach and also enjoyed many out of town conferences with Johnny and his company. She was also involved in a variety of activities at church including teaching, choir and organizations with an emphasis on missions. She loved singing in the Decatur Civic Chorus which allowed her to travel around the United States, as well as Europe and even to Morocco. She learned how to ice skate at the age of fifty. She and Johnny would journey to various ball fields and gymnasiums to enjoy their children and grandchildren playing all types of sports. She continued the tradition with the great-grandchildren as often as possible.

Barbara was predeceased by Virginia Strickland, George Strickland, Larry Strickland and Johnny Truelove. She is survived by her three children, Debra Truelove Arnold, Pamela Truelove Baxley, and John Larry Truelove, along with his wife, Debi Jo Wilson Truelove; grandchildren, Paul Jared Arnold, Philip John Arnold, along with his wife, Ashley Arnold, Timothy Brian Arnold, Natalie Louise Shirey, Matthew Baxley, along with his wife, Danielle Baxley, Wil Truelove, along with his wife, Lauren Truelove; great-grandchildren, Thomas Arnold, Lucas Arnold, Ashlynn Arnold, Marty Shirey, Nicholas Shirey, Connor Baxley, and Bailey Truelove.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Following the visitation will be a Celebration of Life at 1:00PM.
