Betty Jean Wimberly

She will forever be in our memories and hearts

Ms. Betty Wimberly was born on November 27, 1935 in Sylvania, GA to the late Ms. Florrie Washington. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Florrie Washington; brother, Robert Washington; sons, Ernest Wimberly and Michael Washington and daughter, Sheila Diaz. She attended the Savannah Chatham County Public Schools system and upon graduating high school she pursued her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. Ms. Betty worked 50 years as private duty nurse for many of the elderly before retiring.

On the morning of November 16, 2023 God saw his child, Betty was growing tired so He called her home. She fought with all her strength and faith until the end and now she’s resting in the arms of her Savior. She leaves to cherish, her children, Rose (Robert) Simmons of Stockbridge, GA, Robert Lee Wimberly of Savannah, GA, Wade (Alethia) Wimberly of Lithonia, GA, Wayne (Joyce) Wimberly of Conyers, GA ; her grandchildren, Kenneth R. (Stephanie) Washington, Sr., Jasmine (Jerraile) Ivery, Octavia Diaz, Brandi (Corinthian) Greene, Ashley Wimberly, Adrienne Hale, Charlene Wimberly, Kristen Wimberly, Elisheva Wimberly and Jeremy Wimberly; her great grandchildren, Kenneth R. (Rashalonte) Washington, Jr., Ke’Shauna (Sean) Taylor, Tayon Vereen, Tayla Vereen Yasmine Washington, Tyler Black, Brooklyn Greene and Ava Joy Hale; 9 great great grandchildren, nephew, Willie Washington, special friend, Ms. Ann Clay, host of cousins, nieces, and friends.
