Bob is preceded in death by his grandfather Willie Frank Halstead and grandmother Elsie Talent Halstead, his grandfather Howell Hubert Hunt, and grandmother Kathryn Thompson Hunt.
Brother Bob Halstead, a devoted husband, father, “Big Dad”, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, has entered into the presence of His Savior and has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Bob was a man who lived what he preached. He walked in both truth and grace, teaching thousands of people to follow in the steps of Jesus. His heartbeat in ministry was simple yet profound: to help everyone he could take one step closer to Jesus. His life was fruitful because it was firmly rooted in Christ and his calling.
His first and most important mission field was always his family. He faithfully led, prayed for, and lifted up his wife, children, and grandchildren, finding in them his greatest earthly treasure after his relationship with the Lord.
After receiving his call to the ministry, Bob received his bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and his Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College & Seminary. For 41 years, he served the Lord in multiple ministries and churches including Terrell Baptist Church in Sylvester, GA, First Baptist in Karnack, TX, First Baptist in St. Mary, GA, and Crossstyle Church in Buford, GA; but the last twenty-three years were spent shepherding as Elder and Teaching Pastor at Eastside Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia. It was there that God planted him to minister to His people and reach the surrounding community. Bob pastored with a deep love, a shepherd’s heart, and a passion to make disciples who make disciples.
He also extended his ministry beyond the church walls, serving as Chaplain through the Chaplains Associates at Courtesy Ford and Courtesy Chrysler dealerships in Conyers and Stonecrest, Georgia, for over seven years. There, Bob brought the church to the community, sharing the gospel with employees and customers alike. His vision was never limited to those who came into the church building; he believed in taking the hope of Jesus to the highways, workplaces, and neighborhoods where people lived.
Pastor Bob loved well and served faithfully. Whether in the church, beside a hospital bed, at a car dealership, or around the family dinner table, his life reflected the heart of Jesus. Now, he has finished his race, kept the faith, and stepped into eternal glory.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and discipleship—treasures that will live on in his family, his church, and all who were touched by his ministry.

A celebration of his life will take place Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Stockbridge Community Church | 4401 GA-155 N, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
