He was born in Austell, Georgia on May 28,1929 to Harold and Celia Mathis. He is survived by daughters, Donna Culpepper and Aprill Meadows; five grandchildren, Bobby Joe Meadows, III, Wayne Douglas Farris, Jr., Ashleigh Culpepper, Kallie Rutledge and David Ralston, Jr. and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Meadows; son, Bobby Joe Meadows, Jr. and sister, Betty Meadows-Settle.
The family will greet friends at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11:00AM-12:00Noon. Funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00Noon in the chapel.
