Carl is survived by his wife, Ruby Reeves Phillips; his son, Michael (Lynn) Phillips; his sister, Hazel Phillips Duffey; his grandchildren, Brian Watson, Anna Phillips Gillette, Grace Phillips, Angela Rosenblatt and Matthew Rosenblatt; sister-in-law Ernestine Phillips; many nieces and nephews and a large church family.
He is preceded in passing by his daughter, Vickie Phillips Rosenblatt; his parents, Edward and Evelyn Phillips; his brothers, Bud, George, and Bobby Phillips; and his sister, Marie Brown.
Carl was retired from the Army and the Transcontinental Pipeline after 35 years. He was a devoted member of The First Baptist Church of Stockbridge.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25th 2017 from 6-8 pm at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home on Sunday, February 26st, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
