Charles Franklin Hill was born June 12, 1931, in Macon, GA and entered Heaven to be reunited with his wife Martha on March 21, 2018. Following service in the Air Force, he went to work for the Postal Service, where he retired as the manager of the Postal Employee Development Center. He loved to garden, travel with friends and family, and use his time to serve others. After retirement, he began a landscaping company, learned to draw and paint, and enjoyed being a part of anything his children or grandchildren were doing. For many years he served at In His Name Food Pantry by picking up donations and helping prepare them for distribution. He was a faithful member of Lighthouse Community Baptist Church where he loved to give out his weekly Bible “homework”. He was preceded in death by Martha, his wife of 56 years, as well as brothers, James, Oliver, and Bobby Hill and sisters, Ruth Pearce and Sue Holcomb. He is survived by daughters Lee (Tim) Balliew and Reda (Doug) Adams, and grandchildren Kara and Garrett Balliew and Sarah, Jesse (Chelsea), and Cody Adams. Also surviving is his sister, Marianne Clark (M.L.) of Gray, GA as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm at Horis Ward Funeral Home in Fairview. Services will be held at Lighthouse Community Baptist Church on Saturday, March 24, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Lighthouse Community Baptist Church for their Community Care Center.
