Chief Warrant Officer Charles Eugene Ray was born on November 21, 1942 in Pickens County, Georgia to Hubert Clayton Ray and Irene Johnson Ray and passed away on October 28, 2019 in Carrollton, Georgia.
A proud American, he enlisted into the Armed Forces of the United States of America and served faithfully in the United States Army. Charles was a Chief Warrant Officer 3 Quartermaster and on August 31, 1990 he was honorably retired from the United States Army.
Charles was an avid hunter and loved to spend time sitting close to a tree and watching the sun rise and set. He was also a member of the Mableton Moose Lodge and LOVED playing poker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Marie Lowe; great-granddaughter, MaKayla Johnson-Beck and some siblings.
Mr. Ray will forever be remembered and cherished by his loving family, wife, Melissa Gail Ray; children, Cynthia Ray (Brent Hilburn), Charles E. Ray, Jr. (Keri), Valerie Appleby (Chris), Vanessa Painter (Bob) and Brannon Turner (Sharon); seventeen grandchildren, Brandy, Logan, Ciara, Erica, Blake, Brian, Shonna, Alyssa, Brianna, Amber, Dale, Megan, Robby, Seth, Montana, Kaitlyn and Braden; seven great-grandchildren, Rylee, Aria, Ryleigh, Aiden, Kailynn, Addilyn and Harleigh; brother, Hubert Ray; sister, Louise Erickson; a host of other relatives and friends.
A Visitation for Mr. Charles Eugene Ray will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia with a Funeral Service on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 12:00Noon.
Burial will immediately follow the service in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
