Daniel Lewis Dobbs

Affectionately known as Danny by his friends and family, he was born on February 27, 1941 in Lithonia, GA. Danny was a man of deep character and unwavering faith. A lifelong resident of Georgia, he spent his years not only working with his hands—as a true master of all trades—but also pouring his heart into his family and his church. Danny was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, Danny never passed up a chance to play a good prank or make someone laugh. A faithful servant of the Lord, Danny was a proud and active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years, where his presence and dedication will leave a lasting impression.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nellie Jett Dobbs; his brother Tom Dobbs; sisters Carolyn Williams and Jean Parish; his devoted children, Bonnie Farmer and Jesse Dobbs, along with Jesse's wife Cathy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Amanda Dobbs Smith; his parents, Jesse Dobbs and Sarah Nobles Dobbs; and his siblings Roy Dobbs, Franklin Dobbs, Hildred Lewis, Jessie Mae Chandler, and Margaret Toney.

He was a proud grandfather to Sarah Smith, Heather Smith, Amie Smith, Shelby Farmer, and Justin Dobbs, and a cherished great-grandfather to Addyson Beam and Hunter Deerman.

Danny's legacy lives on through the love, faith, and strength of the family he built and the many lives he touched.

A visitation of family and friends will be held for Daniel on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will take place Monday, June 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Ward's Chapel. Services will conclude with a graveside committal at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
