After fighting a courageous battle with cancer for the last 5 years. He never backed down or gave up. He had to improvise, adapt and overcome numerous challenges throughout this battle.
Dave was born in Maysville, Kentucky and moved at a very young age with his family to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After relocating to Hammond, he found his one true love, Vickie Hofstetter Brown, whom he later married. He and Vickie had 28 loving and happy years of marriage together. They started their lives together, in Terrytown, Louisiana. Three years ago, Dave and Vickie decided to relocate to be closer to their daughter, and family in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Dave always treated people with kindness and respect and has been described by many as having a “True and Golden Heart”. He was generous to a fault and would help any and everyone he could. Next to Dave’s family was the love he had for his dogs, especially, “Alex”, a German Shepard who he called his animal soul.
Dave loved working on his home, and building projects with his hands. He had a large passion for NASCAR racing. Dave also loved to visit the Atlanta Motor Speedway. While in Florida, he attended the NASCAR driving school and was able to drive on the track as a professional driver. He introduced Vickie to the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains and God’s creations. Dave and Vickie spent every moment they could together exploring the beautiful scenery of the various mountains, lakes, rivers and streams they could find. Dave’s heart was so devoted to Vickie, that the richness of their marriage cannot be surpassed nor forgotten.
Dave will be sorely missed by his wife, Vickie, kids, grandkids, and all those who loved him, as well as those who had the privilege to know him for who he was.
