David was born in Phenix City, Alabama on November 6, 1935 to the late Vera and Robert Bryant.
Upon graduating from columbus High School, he went on to enlist in the United States Navy. After an honorable discharge from the military, David served as a postal service clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Community Church of Praise in Stockbridge, Georgia. David was a jack of all trades who could do and build anything. He loved purchasing homes to restore and sell again. His favorites were lake houses, as he always enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. He told the best stories and David never met a stranger. He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
David is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mrs. Martha L. Bryant; one daughter, Angela Godfrey (Steve); one son, David Bryant, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jacob Godfrey (Jessica), Rebekah Simpson (Daniel), Steven Godfrey (Cerissa), and Miranda Bryant; nine great grandchildren, Jordan, Jaida, Jillian, Cooper, Landon, Madison, Aiden, Ella Kate, and Ava Grace; and a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation of family and friends will be held for David on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A celebration of his life will occur Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Community Church of Praise | 3851 Union Church Road Stockbridge, GA 30281. Services will conclude with graveside military honors and a committal service at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
