

Deborah "Debbie" Elaine George, age 51, of Atlanta, GA along with her beloved pet poodle, Lady died in a car accident on 9/11/2010 in Baldwin Co., AL. They are now with family, friends and her beloved Cocker, Buffy.
Born October 14, 1958 in Orlando, Florida to parents, Mary and Virgle George, Debbie was a fun-loving, care-free person who always knew how to have a good time and make people laugh. She was an avid bowler winning the amateur title for the WIBC in the late '70's. She was a huge Braves fan and loved going to the movies.
Debbie was a prominent and well-respected part of the Atlanta community. She worked for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for 20 years, with a total of 35 years of employment with the government. She volunteered at the Summer Olympics and Para Olympics in 1996. She ushered many concerts at Fox, Cobb Energy Centre, Ferst Center and many other venues.
She received her undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Magna Cum Laude from GA. State University in 1993 and received her Master's in Information Technology, with honors, from American Continental University in 2001.
She is survived by her life partner, Susa'n Page (Atlanta, GA); mother and father, Mary (Turner) and Virgle George (Stockbridge, GA); brother and sister-in-law, Edmund and Michell George (Grand Prairie, TX); nieces and nephews, Casey Zahirniak (Arlington, TX), Michael George (Newport News, VA), Ryne Zahirniak (deployed, Afghanistan), and Jaime Zahirniak (Cedar Hill, TX); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, September 18th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Horis A. Ward's Fairview Chapel. Memorial services, officiated by Reverend Ralph Wade, will be held after visitation at 2 p.m. followed by fellowship in the community center.
