I am writing another entry to assure the family that we have not forgotten Debbie.  Her name is mentioned often in the halls of CDC, we miss her terribly.  My heart hurts so for Mary; I can't allow myself to imagine the awful pain of losing a child; especially a loving child like Debbie.

I am still in shock. I know Debbie through HHS. I remember having lunch with Debbie and Cindy when they were here in the DC area approximately 3 weeks prior to the accident. We were discussing Debbie retiring in about 3 years. DEBBIE WILL TRULY BE MISSED!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Susa'n, and all of Debbie's family.  Debbie will be greatly missed but I will never forget that wonderful laugh and huge smile.  She brought happiness to us all and I am blessed to have known her.

I was shocked to hear of the tragic loss of Debbie and Lady.  I met Debbie while attending movie screenings, and she was such a pleasant and friendly person.  My sympathies go out to all of her family and friends.

Debbie will be missed.  She was aways very nice and friendly to everyone.  When you heard her laugh it would make you smile as well.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
May the comfort of God help you during this difficult time.

I was very saddened to hear of Debbie's death. We met 2 years ago when she attended a week of Software training at my company (HandySoft) in Falls Church, VA. We became friends and she stayed in touch thru my movie reviews. My sympathies go out to Debbie's family. May God Bless you all.

We knew Debbie from the movies and she was such a fun-loving positive person--always smiling and usually laughing, lighting up any room she walked into. Debbie always had somewhere she was looking forward to going: movies, ushering, Braves games, Biloxi. Anyone who met Debbie knew within 5 minutes how much she loved her family. A bright light on this earth has been extinguished too soon and we will miss her very much.

I have out of the country and on returning yesterday learned of this loss. Shock and sorrow doesn't even describe the feelings adequately.
The George family and Susa'n have been in my thoughts and prayers during this time. 
I've had the pleasure of knowing 'the kid' for over 30 years.She was a great bowler and a great friend. As difficult as it may be for those left behind, comfort and reassurance can be had knowing she is smiling and laughing with friends we have lost, like Emily Hondros(Me) and Cindy Thomas (Hot Rod).
The fun times we have had through the years will be memories I will cherish forever.

She was a generous soul, compassionate and fun to be around.  I will miss seeing her in the places we ushered together.  Heaven has called another angel home and we will miss her here below.

Debbie's passing has sent shock through Atlanta's close-knit usher community.  Debbie and her infectious laugh will be missed. Take comfort in knowing that everyone has a special guardian angel.  The brightest star on a dark night will be Debbie ushering new arrivals to the Pearly Gates.

I had the pleasure of working with Deb for over a decade in CDC's HR Office and was always very grateful to her for making my family and me feel so welcome when we moved here from San Diego.  She truly had a "big" personality and always livened up every event (including asking the TOUGH question at All Hands Meetings).  She touched many lives in many circles and we will all miss her energy, laugh, and love of life.  Our prayers are with Susa'n and the George family during your time of grief.

That is how Debbie lived her life - to the fullest.  If Debbie was at a gathering of friends, you knew you were in for an evening of interesting conversation, good stories and lots of laughs.  We lost a friend but God got a loving angel.  Susa'n, I am so sorry for your loss.  You and Debbie's family are in my thoughts and prayers.  God Bless You All.

I'm sorry to hear about Debra's passing. I knew her years ago from bowling. When i
bowled on her team with CDC. She was always hsppy and funny and a very good bowler and good sport. It is a great loss to everyone that knew her.

My prayers are with Debbie's family and friends.I knew Debbie from the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.We ushered together.Debbie always had a warm hello and a big smile for everyone.

I had been in Mississippi with Debbie and Susa'n over the Labor Day Holiday. We had a wonderful visit. When I saw her last, she was walking up to the condo door, looking back at me, waving & smiling. What a wonderful smile! She was one of my favorite people and I will miss her very much. To Susa'n and her Mom and Dad, Thanks for sharing her with me.

My thoughts and prayers are with you - I am so fortunate to have met you and Debbie during our function at Canoe and having yall take me up on the offer of giving the Isle a second chance!  I will always remember the laughs we had over dinner in Farradday's - Debbie's contagious laughter will always stick in my mind.  Stay strong and know your Isle family is thinking of you during this difficult time.

To the George Family, It was truly a pleasure to have known Debbie.  The most memorable story I have of Debbie happened this summer during the Retirement Ceremony for AHRC Director Galen Carver.  I was asked to sing the National Anthem and there was no flag in the room.  Guess who had on a "FLAG" shirt?  If you guessed Debbie, you are correct!  She came to the front of the room and stood.  We all turned towards her and I sang the National Anthem.  May the Lord give all of you the strength you will need in the days to come.

Debbie's passing has been such a shock to all of us!  We had just spent some delightful quality time with Debbie and Susa'n on Labor Day where Debbie spoke of her deep and abiding love for her parents.  She talked in length about the commitment her parents have for each other.  She also spoke lovingly about her whole family...including Susa'n!  We feel so blessed that we had that time with Debbie that day, for God does not promise us tomorrow!  Debbie was a special person with a terrific personality and a zest for life.  We will miss her, even though we didn't get to see her often enough.  God bless her in heaven and we trust in the fact that He will continue to comfort her family and Susa'n.  Rest in peace, sweetie!  You were so loved!

I have known Debbie for 10 years and her Mother for a couple of years before that. I owe to the both of them the fact I got my position at CDC.  My heart is very saddened. Not for Debbie, she is with the angels singing a joyful song, with that great big smile on her face that she is so famous for.  I am saddened for her family that is going to miss her forever. The halls at CDC will never be the same, her smile was so contagious.  Debbie was forever speaking of her family and the love she felt.  She spoke to me more about her Mom because she knew that I knew her before the stroke.  She was esctatic with every bit of improvement her mom made and wanted to make sure she wasn't left out of anything because of the stroke.  My heart does hurt and I would love to give Mary a great big hug.  You raised a daughter who lived life to the fullest, she loved her family, you had her for 51 wonderful years.  What more could a Mother wish for.  Love you Mary

I worked for Debbie at CDC HR office for 4 or 5 years.  She was a woman with a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.  She became the "voice" of the HR office and stood up for the worker bees.  Her "full of life" attitude and contageous smile will be missed daily. I celebrate Debbie's joyous spirit and contagious laugh, and knowing we'll see her again ushering us in at Heaven's Gate.

We are saddened of the loss of Debbie.  When she came in to our office, there was always a kind word and a smile on her face.  Tonight, when you look up in the evening sky, the newest twinkling star is Debbie telling us she is okay and is with her family and beloved pets in heaven. I am so sorry to read of Debbie's passing.  I worked with Debbie years ago in the Human Resource Management Department at CDC (I retired from there in 1995 to be a "stay at home" mom for my 2 year old daughter at the time (she's 16 now).  Debbie always lit up a room when she walked in.  I loved her cheerfulness, her laughter, and her sense of humor.  I am very sorry for your loss.  I know you'll miss her greatly.

I knew her from movie screenings and 'Oracle Technology Day' meetings. I cannot still believe that we lost her. She was a people person, always kind and generous. I am going to miss her. My prayers are with her family.

I had the priviledge of spending Labor Day week-end with Debbie and Susa'n in Biloxi to see their new condo and visit the casinos. We had such a wonderful visit! As usual, Debbie was so cheerful - always smiling and was such a gracious host. It is  hard to believe that just one week later she is gone. I am deeply saddened for the loss of such a wonderful person and friend!  My sincere sympathy to Susa'n and to Debbie's parents during this sad time.

I was sadden to hear about the passing of Debbie.  I use to bowl with Debbie and I missed seeing her smiling face at tournments. She always had a great smile and a great sense of humor.. She is going to be greatly missed.. My prayers go out to her family.....

She was one of those people who caused you to smile when you saw her and was always generous with help and hugs at the various events she volunteered for.  She will be missed.

I knew Debbie through a women's peer group at the CDC.  Her travel schedule prevented her from attending frequently, but her participation was always a treat.  She was one of the most positive and upbeat people I ever met.She was clearly dedicated to her job and did it well.  My heart aches with the family members who suffer this loss.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Debbie has been a very familiar presence to many of us at the local movie screenings.  She has always had good words and friendly greetings for everyone.  Her smile and laugh brightened our days.  She delighted us with stories of her and Suzanne’s adventures in Biloxi.  And when the Braves were in town, Debbie was sure to be at the game, if at all possible.  She loved volunteering as an usher at the Fox Theatre, Chastain, Cobb Energy Center and other venues in Atlanta.
We will miss her.

I am still in shock over this. I just saw Debbie two weeks ago and she was as usual cheerful and happy. She will indeed be missed.

I have one of her DVDs she recently lent to me. Please contact me and let me know how to get it back to her family.

Debbie was a wonderful ushering friend. We had a lot of the same taste in music and I spent many enjoyable evenings with her while ushering at Chastain, the Fox, or Symphony Hall. Debbie was so nice to everyone and always fun to be around. I extend my sympathy to her family and everyone who knew her. She is truly irreplaceable. I will miss her!

I've known and worked with Debbie since late 2003.  Her enthusiasm, humor and drive made her a dominant figure and pleasant presence on every team she served.

I will always remember her laugh, her love of sports, the passion she displayed, and the success that surrounded her.

Debbie was a valuable member of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Volunteer staff.  We loved her laugh and good nature and will miss that, but memories of her will last for a very long time.
