

Dolores was born on January 18, 1927 in Madison County, Georgia. She graduated from Madison County High School and went on to business school at Berry College. She served her community for years by working in the Education Field before retiring with the Clayton County Board of Education.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, James Herbert Turpin, Sr.; parents, George Nathan Sartain and Jessie Lee Crow Sartain; four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne and her husband, Clyde Handley; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Rick Lehmkuhl; son, Jimmy and his wife, Debra Turpin; grandson, Chad and his wife, Melanie Handley; grandson, Kevin and his wife, Mandy Armstrong; grandson, Kyle and his wife, Renee Armstrong; grandson, Butch and his wife, Kimberly Kelly; granddaughter, Allison and her husband, Russell Covington; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter and McKinzie Armstrong, Nathan Armstrong, Brayden Kelly, Maelyn, Evers and Brenley Covington.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her long term caregivers, Mari Fraser, Katie and Rachel Gordy and CNA Mrs. Pam.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home-Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia on Monday, August 16, 2021. There will be a public visitation from 11:00AM - 1:00PM, immediately followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fairview memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
