Elvin was born in Pampanga Province, Philippines, to the late Melvin Wildy, Jr. and Epefania Wildy. He arrived in the United States by ship before the age of two. His grandparents Louise & Melvin T. Wildy Sr. played a significant role in his life and assisted in raising him. He grew up and was educated in St Helena Island, South Carolina, and spent some summers as a teenager in New York. Elvin attended college at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
He served in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. After his service, Elvin worked at JB Hunt as a dedicated driver for over three decades.
Elvin is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Epefania Wildy, and his daughter, Danielle Pearson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Mary; his son, Chamberlain and daughter-in-law Christina; daughter, Tara; granddaughter, Riley; and grandson, Jeremiah. Elvin is also survived by his siblings: Erlin, Dorothy, Birdena, Claudine, and Kurt. He will be fondly remembered by a host of other relatives, friends and colleagues.
Elvin's legacy of love, dedication, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
