Emory "Dale" Swinson, 77, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away Wednesday, August, 13, 2014 after an extended illness. Dale was born on February 22, 1037 in Baxley, Ga. to the late Hollis Thrower and Frankie Swinson Thrower.
Dale was an Air Force veteran and was retired from the automobile industry. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ophelia “Fefe” Swinson and by his 4 children, Gene Swinson (Terri), Randy Swinson, Mike Swinson (Anja), and Beverly Knowles. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his siblings, Ray Swinson, Landon Thrower (Margaret), and Mary Reddell (Jim).
Pallbearers include Jake Swinson, Miles Knowles, Michael Swinson, Joe Thrower, Alan Thrower, and Stacy Toumbleston. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home Located on 376 Fairview Road in Stockbridge, Ga. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 3:00pm at the Ole Country Church on 2649 Highway 155 North, McDonough, GA 30252.
