

Fay Elizabeth Brake McIntosh of Perry, GA formally of Decatur, GA left her earthly body for her heavenly home on September 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1 pm in the chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm.
Fay was born in Union Point, Georgia, to Ida Ruth Callaway Brake and Daniel Pierce Brake on July 12, 1926. She attended Union Point High School and graduated May 28, 1944. Fay attended Business School in Athens, Georgia and worked at Union Manufacturing as a looper. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in January 1954 and worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company until August 1956 when she married the love of her life, Lawrence P McIntosh on August 30, 1956. She was a member of Union Point Baptist Church until she moved to Atlanta and later became a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church until its closing and then became a member of Parkwood Hills Baptist Church both in Decatur, Georgia. Faye enjoyed bowling on a senior league, playing senior bingo and singing in the choir. She is preceded in death by husband, Lawrence P McIntosh; sister, Julia Mae Binns; brother, Milton B Brake, and her parents. She is survived by three daughters, Angela McIntosh, Mildred M Hardison, and Hildred McIntosh Cannon; two granddaughters, Sara Niswender and Bethany Conner; and one great granddaughter, Mckenna Niswender.
