Shelia and Glenn I am so sorry to find out about Gary.  Even though we had lost touch I have always cherished your friendship.  Gary was like a brother to me and I loved him very much. I know he is I heaven he had to be because he was an Angel at heart. Much love to you Shelia you and Glenn are in my thoughts and prayers.

"Pretty good & you?" That was the very first thing you said to me when I got off the plane & met you in 1980! You & Sheila had truly unconditional love. Those who know & love you both truly saw this between the 2 of you! Thank you for being such a great friend & for loving my Rick in the special way you did. I pray for you to be at peace. You touched many lives but none more than Sheila & Glenn. I hope in time their tears will be replaced by smiles in knowing the love you had for them! You will be eternally missed & loved always! God bless you & may he guide your loved ones through this profound loss of you. Thank you, Gary for touching all of our lives in such a profound way! My answer to you is,  "pretty good!"

Gary passing was a total shock to me, I only met Gary once, but I knew his son, Glen when he was a young boy My deep sympathy for the Howell family.

Sheila and family,I was shocked when I heard about Gary today. I didn't realize that he was that sick. I am so sorry for your loss, and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Gary was a good guy, and we have had lots of fun back in the days of Fuzzy's Place. He will be missed!

Gary and I were best friends in high school; once you are best friends you are always friends. Every time we would see each other all the years apart would  disappear and we would tell each other "I love you, man". I never saw Gary have a cross word with anyone. He loved his family and friends. I will miss him being in this world with us. My sympathies to Glenda, Sarah, Glenn, Sheila, and their families over their - and our - sudden loss. Rest in Peace, my friend and brother.

Gary and I remained good friends even after our school years.  We talked quite often and I last saw him at his sister Hilda's funeral.  It was a pleasure seeing and talking to Gary, not knowing it would be the last time I would ever see him.  I will miss Gary very much and my thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family. I was attending another funeral today when this sad news reached me!..Our prayers are with the family!

Gary was a good friend through the years and I have many great memories!

He was "One Of The Guys" during our six years in the 180th. Signal Company (Decatur Unit) of the Georgia Army National Guard and our friendship continued, both personally and in business,  for all these years!

He will surly be missed by many, but his legacy will never be forgotten!

The photo gallery brought back memories and a smile.  The changes in us in the years following high school reflected our "sixties" up bringing.  Most of us seem to have worn our hair the same way and had a mustache or beard...and some of us kept them even as they turned gray on us!  Loss is sad, but memories mean that we lived and shared at least some part of our lives with each other.  Gary now rests peacefully in God's hands, feeling all our prayers.

I knew Gary from East Atlanta High School.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was in the Georgia Army National Guard with Gary, and we shared many fun times. Gary was always  pleasant, humorous, and fun to be around.
