Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late James Oscar and Jewel Wilson Mitchell. He was a long time member of the DeKalb County community, 1952 graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School, Owner of Mitchell Tire Company and life time member of Mount Carmel Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Britt Mitchell, Son and Daughter-in-Law, Gary and LaDonna Mitchell of Auburn, Daughter and Son-in-law, Denise and Steve Endsley of Hoschton, Step-son, his wife and son, Lonnie, Cheryl and Zack Britt of Charlotte, 6 grandchildren, Steve Turbeville, Clay Turbeville and wife Kristine, Andrew Endsley, Nicholas Mitchell, Bryan Endsley and Sarah Kate Endsley, and brother, Darel Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Glen Oscar Mitchell.
Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 27th, 2014, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, Fairview Rd, Stockbridge. Family will accept visitors from 11:00am-1:00pm.
