

Glenn Stanley, age 77, of Stockbridge, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel at 11:00 Am, with Rev. Susan Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge.
Mr. Stanley was an Airman and a shoemaker in the US. Navy where he served on the USS Randolph. He retired from Stanley Shoe Repair where he was a shoemaker and from Dekalb County where he was a school bus driver. He was a long-time member of Stockbridge Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband and father and will be fondly remembered by his family not only as a happy, go lucky man but for his love of Chips Ahoy cookies, Butterfingers and Diet Dr. Pepper.
He is survived by: wife, Patricia Stanley of 54 years; children: Michael Glenn Stanley, Marilyn & Scott White, Mark Gregory Stanley and Martin Geoffrey & Shannon Dawn Stanley, grandchildren; Pamela Ashley White, Kaitlyn Michelle White, Michaela Hope White, Taylor Nicole Stanley, Tori Dawn Stanley, Taryn Elizabeth Stanley and Abigail Rose Stanley, brother; Bill & Hazel Stanley, sister-in-law Eloise Stanley, brother-in-law Raymond Price, 1 niece and 6 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mercer Franklin & Annie Ruth Stanley, brother, Mercer Franklin Stanley Jr., sister, Mildred Stanley Price and Nephew, John Mercer Stanley.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 16, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
