Jack was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on March 11, 1933 to the late Jackson and Edna Thompson. He enlisted and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Jack went on to pursue a career in aviation as a pilot with Eastern Airlines, where he served for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Stockbridge United Methodist Church. Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Edna Thompson, Jack was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Ruth Harper. He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Ommie C. Thompson; two children, Mrs. Lynn Thompson-Tallian (Rich) and Mr. Jackson W. Thompson, III (Jeanette); one step-daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Burke (Keith); four grandchildren, Jackson IV, Jessica, Brendan, and Katherine; one step-grandson, Brandon Burke (Paige); three great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
