Jacqueline Marie Greene

Jacqueline Marie Greene was born to Arthur Brown and Hortense Green on February 9, 1969, in Jones

Town, Kingston, Jamaica. In 1982, Jacqueline immigrated to the United States with her mother and sister,

settling in Rochester, New York.

Jacqueline graduated from Monroe High School with a diploma in General Studies. During her early years,

she had a strong interest in the performing arts, church, music, and travelling. She was a gifted and

competitive athlete who loved track and field and volleyball. Her talent on the volleyball court earned her a

scholarship to Delaware State University, where she majored in Business Administration and Accounting.

Life took a different turn, and Jacqueline did not complete her studies there. She later married and had two

sons, Elijah Troy Greene and Michaeljon A. Greene.

Throughout her career, Jacqueline had an entrepreneurial spirit. She founded her own business, Custom

Care Cleaning, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, serving the hospitality and travel industry. Later in life, she

continued her education and earned degrees in Early Childhood Education. She graduated from Delaware

Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and from

Wilmington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Jacqueline worked at the PACT Center and Sussex Technical High School for 11 years. In 2019, she moved

to Stockbridge, Georgia, where she continued her work with children at Bright Horizons.

Unfortunately, life took another turn when Jacqueline was diagnosed with breast cancer. Because of this,

she made a career change and began working as a Processing Technician with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s

Office. During this time, she established herself within the community, building meaningful relationships

through Harbor of Hope and Victory Tabernacle.

Her cancer returned in 2025, and she fought with remarkable strength and courage. On the morning of July

15, 2026, Jacqueline passed away at home, surrounded by her family.

Jacqueline is survived by her mother, Hortense Green of Georgia; her father, Arthur Brown in Kingston,

Jamaica; her two sons, Elijah Greene in California and Michaeljon Greene in Georgia; seven sisters; three

brothers; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, extended family members; and her cousin and best friend,

Maxine Brown.

She will be remembered for her kindness, patience, humour, generosity, unwavering dedication, willingness

to listen, and above all, her unconditional, selfless, and enduring love.
